The PINK Wash

There it is...the Royal British Blues in the Whites have been Pink Washed by the Awesome Aussies! (Pink Wash - a tribute to the McGrath foundation) Fantastic victory! Here they are singing a song in the mid of the pitch at the SCG, forming a huddle, after the final English wicket Boyd Rankin, got picked for a '0' by Ryan Harris, caught at slips by the Aussie skipper. A series that has re-stressed the meaning of the word "DOMINANCE". Call it sledging or great Cricket that has however got the better of the British.
But this series has not been won just because of the heroics of any one single player. It has really been a fantastic team effort. An all round team effort so to say. All the playing eleven played their part almost perfectly.
Brad Haddin's batting to me, was one of the great plus-es for the Aussies. And with the cricketer of the year 2013 being just a feather on the cap, Michael Clarke was truly brilliant both with his bat and captaincy.
Man of the series well and truly has been awarded to Mitchell Johnson. He really is the guy who scripted the result of the series almost a month back, with his awesome quick bowling, consistently hitting 147+ kph. With his yorkers and bouncers at that pace, he really became a nightmare for the British batters!
This has been a baaaad Ashes series for England...it just can't get any worser for them.
BUT, in around 15 to 20 years time this might be looked back as a debut test series of one of the all time great all rounders to have played the game...and that might be an English player...Benjamin Andrew Stokes (Ben Stokes). This Newzealand born talent has really rocked the stage with both bat and ball, amidst all the odd things that has happened to his team. He has withstood and come out with some wonderful performances against all the ugly sledging and great Cricket played by the Aussies. At the dusk of a great all rounder's (Jacques Kallis) career, here is another dawn that has been scripted amidst tough times. I hope to see more awesome performances from this lad who is just in his early 20s still. Well...IPL auction is not too far...Ben might well strike Gold soon! All the best auctioners! :)

Sachin Tendulkar - God's gift to the game of Cricket!!!

My heart has been pumping blood always...for a moment today my heart pumped tears...I couldn't believe it has happened...my hands are shivering as I type this...yes SACHIN the great has retired...the man who has lived as an adjective to adjectives is bidding adieu to his passion and the passion of his fellow countrymen! Oops...I am in tears...let me take some time off to finish this comment...

Well...well...well...the most emotional speech (Sachin Tendulkar's good bye speech on 16th November 2013) I have ever heard in my life...the game of Cricket is proud to have had a great love like Sachin. No one would have ever loved Cricket more than Sachin has. Or probably none would have ever loved their profession more than this guy has. He has loved and lived Cricket!

Well, yes, he was privileged to live such a life so far and we were privileged to watch him play. I am proud that I have witnessed him live on a Cricket ground playing for India.

He is taking a round around the Wankhede stadium on the shoulders of Dhoni & Kohli. Well no better shoulders to sit on...they are expected to live up to this legend's expectations now...and I am sure they will.

As a true Sachin fan now its onus to live as a true Cricket fan and continue to support the game that great man has loved more than anything else in his life.

It was so heartening to see him run, after all the ceremony was complete, back to the 22 yards, bend down, touch it with both his hands and kiss, with tears flowing down his cheeks.

Sincere thanks to all his family members, friends, captains, coaches, selectors, physicians, doctors, co-players, media, opponent team players, all those who challenged him and last but not the least, the Almighty for rendering us such a treat of a person for the last 2 dozen years. He wouldn't have been where he was, when he said bye bye, without you guys and thereby we wouldn't have witnessed and experienced joys of our life from him. So a BIG THANKS to all of you!

Just like Sachin would have loved to continue playing, but had to stop somewhere just for the sake of it and stopped today, I am ending my comments here on this greatest contemporary individual in our life time, just because I have to stop somewhere to click on Post, as it is impossible to stop thinking or speaking about this great gentleman who played the game of gentlemen!

Sachin, your family is proud of you, your friends are proud of you, your acquaintances are proud of you, Mumbai is proud of you, India is proud of you, Every Indian is proud of you, Cricket is proud of you, hence I am proud of you, as obvious as it could get.

THANK YOU SACHIN PAAJI! You and the memories you gifted us will live in our hearts till our last breath! Your records might get broken some day. But trust me, no other sportsperson would ever get loved as much as you.

Sachin said it is his partnership with his wife Anjali the best partnership of his life time! But I would say his partnership with Cricket itself is the best partnership of any life time! Sachin is another reason for each cricket fan to say "I am proud to be a Cricket fan!".

Love you Cricket! Love you Sachin Tendulkar! Long Live Sachin! Long Live His Fame! & Long Live Cricket!

Vishwaroopam

Finally after the end of all the political and religious drama (or "trauma" if one can call it so) got to watch Kamal Haasan's "Vishwaroopam". Good movie! Happy to see the class of technology in the movie...and its closeness to perfection. Technologically for Indian cinema...yes it is a "Vishwaroopam"...as goes the meaning of the word, it is of a World Class!
And about Kamal Haasan: Well we have seen in movies and read in stories about these people who are affected by "Multiple Personality DIS-order"...but this man Kamal Haasan, to me, is blessed with "Multiple Personality IN-order".
We would understand the terminology "ladies-man"...(more than that) this guy Kamal, is a movies-man! The best boy friend of the lady "CINEMA" :)
We know "He-Man", "Bat-Man", "Spider-Man", "Super-Man"...in that list, Kamal Haasan is "CINEMAN". None would love the art of cinema more than him! Need to invent words to describe his abilities on and behind the screens!
Let's await the second part! Hopefully this time with much lesser drama...oops...trauma...:)
But be mindful of the fact that the scope for issues is much bigger this time, as the story of the sequel is going to take place in INDIA! So there is a very good scope for news channels with regards to their TRPs... :)
Anyways, all the very best wishes to the great "CINEMAN" Kamal Haasan!

Thuppaakki - after effects ;)

Watched "Thuppaakki"...its faaaarrr better than many recent Vijay starrers...AR Murugadoss has done a decent job asusual...the theme and thought process (directorial) are good...from Thamizh public class audience point of view, it has all qualities of becoming a block buster...and finally after a long time its nice to see a Vijay movie without any so called "punch-dialogue"s...is it an indication that Vijay is on track for the race? I was under the impression that an accident named "Kuruvi" threw him out of track...but this movie gives me a feeling that it might have well been an extended pit-stop...well you never know...he is always a hard core B & C class audience's servant! He might shock us again with some punch dialogues and wing-less flying stunts...just keeping my fingers crossed expecting it to not happen again...as Vijay's fan cat I have already accidentally put my tongue into, not just one but quite a few, hot milk bowls...frightened of white fluids I didn't watch Thuppaakki on the first day...but just knew it was much more drinkable this time...hope to get some more of such cool bowls of milk to lick and say, sssllpp...yummy-yao! :) ...oops forgot to mention...Harris Jayaraj has done well too...few songs can be heard again and again...good job! I didn't feel bored! Especially being a non-smoker, it is difficult during boring song sequences...but Harris has helped! :) For 120 INR, its quite a good bet! Overall, Thuppaakki...was my kappaafti (cup of tea) :)

Endhiran - The Entertainer!

Rajni Dazzles!!! Ash Sizzles!!! Shankar Shines!!! AR Rockzzzz!!! Resul Rises!!! Maaran Marches ahead as Endhiran Entertains Earth!!!
After sometime a movie with a lot of scope for performance for our Super Star! And he has proved his mettle! Rajni has made justice to the role. No idea how Shankar even imagined of having someone else portray this role other than Rajni! Only Rajni could do this in such a stylish manner! Awesome Acting displayed! The difference that he has shown between the two characters (the man and the machine) is terrific!!! Especially the negative role of the Robot reminds his very famous old flick "Moondru Mugam", where he performs a role of a Police officer named Alex Pandian! He looks so young in most of the scenes! Hats off to Shankar's perfection on making Rajini look so young! And Ash...no words...if the concept of the movie is that a machine falls in love with a lady, then she is the perfect choice...even metal hearts will melt at her beauty!
Though the concept of the story is pretty much Indian...the way it has been handled is commendable! The computer graphics and animation is spectacular! Certainly a first of its kind from Indian film industry. This will certainly inspire more such ones to follow! Though so much of hype is undoubtedly because of Super Star Rajni and even if it is seen as a team effort, somehow my hand moves towards my hat to say hats off to one man! That is none other than SHANKAR! Its his brain that has worked behind such a huge entertainer!
Wish Thamizh film industry and Indian film industry get to see more such innovations! Also I hope not everyone start running behind Robotics and Science fiction now! We have a wide range of audience to satisfy! One at a time and one time to all! Film Industry should keep that in mind too! All the very best to the Endhiran crew for future projects & Many congrats for the current huge success!
Cheers:)

Expansion for S.H.I.T :)

In the 16th and 17th centuries, before commercial fertilizer was invented, large shipments of manure were transported by ship. It was shipped in dry bundles because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet-but once water hit it at sea, it not only became heavier, but when the process of fermentation began, a byproduct which is methane gas was formed. It didn't take long or methane to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before somebody figured out what was happening. Once they determined the role that manure played in the explosions, everybody began tamping the bundles with the term "Ship High In Transit", so that the sailors would know to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane!

Thus, evolved the term "S.H.I.T", that has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day. You probably did not know the true history of this word. Neither did I.
